Stairs are one of those spots in a home that people walk past a hundred times a day without really thinking about - until the carpet starts looking rough. The old dark floral pattern here had run its course. It was heavy, dated, and made the whole entryway feel closed in.

The new choice was a light gray herringbone pattern carpet, and it completely changes the energy of the space. Brighter. Cleaner. More open. That kind of shift doesn't happen just from picking a nice color - the material and texture both play a big role in how a staircase reads from the bottom looking up.

Here's where the real work comes in though. Pattern carpet on stairs is not a simple install. Every step has to line up. The herringbone has to flow in the same direction, at the same angle, from the very bottom tread all the way to the top landing. One off-center cut and the whole thing looks sloppy. We took our time making sure every line stayed straight and every seam was tight.

The landing at the bottom gets its own attention too. Where the stair carpet meets the flat floor, the transition has to be clean and flush - no bunching, no gaps, no lifted edges. That detail is easy to rush, and when it's rushed, you notice it. When it's done right, it just looks like it belongs there. That's the goal every time.

Stairs are one of the more technical parts of residential carpet installation, and they're also one of the highest-impact spots in a home. Get the install right and the whole entryway feels put together. This one came out sharp, and the team did solid work getting every step dialed in.
