This Dallas townhome needed the full treatment - solid hardwood floors throughout and a Hollywood-style staircase wrap to tie it all together. A lot of contractors will do one or the other. We did both, and we made sure every inch matched up cleanly from room to room.

Starting from the subfloor up, we laid solid hardwood across the main living areas, the kitchen, and every room in between. Getting the subfloor prep right is where most jobs either hold up over time or start to fail. We don't skip that step. The result is a floor that sits flat, feels solid underfoot, and doesn't shift or squeak down the road.

The staircase is where this job really stands out. A Hollywood wrap means we covered both the treads and the risers in matching solid wood - no carpet, no shortcuts. It creates that seamless, built-in look where the stairs feel like a natural extension of the floors below rather than an afterthought. It also holds up a lot better than carpet on stairs, especially in a home with daily foot traffic.

What we're most proud of on jobs like this is the consistency. The wood tone, the grain layout, the transitions between rooms - it all flows. That kind of cohesion doesn't happen by accident. It takes planning before the first board goes down and attention to detail every step of the way. Dallas homeowners who want their floors to look custom without being piecemeal - this is how you get there.

Solid hardwood is one of those investments that pays off in both livability and home value. It's durable, it can be refinished down the line, and it just looks better the more light hits it. This townhome is a solid example of what a full hardwood install done right can do for a home.
