Here's a situation we see more often than you'd think. The floors were only a few years old, but they were already showing damage - warping, discoloration, all the signs of a moisture barrier that wasn't installed correctly the first time. When that barrier fails, it doesn't matter how nice the planks look on top. The floor is working against itself from day one.

We pulled out all of the dark gray laminate planks throughout the home and started fresh. This time, the moisture barrier went down right. No shortcuts, no skipping steps. That's the part most homeowners never see, but it's the part that determines whether your floor lasts five years or twenty.

Once the foundation was solid, we installed warm light beige laminate planks across the living areas, kitchen, hallway, and bathroom. The color shift alone changed the feel of the entire home. The lighter tone opened everything up - the living room feels bigger, the kitchen feels brighter, and even the hallway has a clean, finished look that wasn't there before.

What's easy to miss in a job like this is how many different spaces had to flow together. Kitchen, living room, hallway, bathroom - each one had its own layout challenges. Getting the planks to line up cleanly from room to room and transition properly around appliances, cabinetry, and doorways takes real attention to detail. That's not something you can rush.

Bad flooring installs are almost always a subfloor or moisture prep problem, not a material problem. If your floors are warping, buckling, or showing damage and they're only a few years old, the planks probably aren't the issue. We do this the right way from the ground up - and this Irving home is a good example of what that looks like when it's done.
