This Fort Worth home needed a full floor overhaul. The old laminate and carpet were worn out, and the subfloor was rough and uneven in spots. Before we could lay a single plank, we had to strip everything back to bare concrete and get the surface clean and prepped. That's not the glamorous part of the job - but it's what separates a floor that lasts from one that doesn't.

Once the subfloor was ready, we installed 6.5mm Swiss Alps luxury vinyl plank throughout the home - living room, bedrooms, hallways, all of it. We chose this product specifically because it hits the right balance: it's thick enough to handle everyday foot traffic, it holds up against moisture, and the color works in just about any room. Light, neutral, and genuinely easy to keep clean.

We also replaced all the baseboards throughout the home. It's a detail that matters more than most people realize. New baseboards give the floor a finished, intentional look - like everything belongs together instead of being patched in.

The difference room to room is pretty significant. The living room, with its tray ceiling and bold accent wall, went from a concrete shell to a space that actually feels put together. The bedrooms followed the same path - bare subfloor to clean, bright LVP with crisp white baseboards running the perimeter. The whole home now reads as one cohesive space instead of a patchwork of old materials.

LVP is one of the most practical flooring choices out there right now - especially for homes that see real use. It doesn't trap allergens the way carpet does, it's far more forgiving with spills than laminate, and it holds its look over time. If you've been sitting on a flooring update, this kind of whole-home install is worth understanding what it actually involves.
