Moisture in a concrete subfloor is one of those problems that can quietly ruin a floor installation. You won't see it coming until planks start buckling or adhesive fails. On this job, we tested the subfloor with a Tramex moisture meter before anything else went down - and sure enough, the readings came back elevated. Not a guess. A confirmed problem that needed a real fix.

So before we ever touched the flooring, we applied a moisture sealer across the subfloor. That step protects the floor from underneath and keeps the whole install stable long-term. It's not glamorous work, but it's exactly the kind of thing that separates a floor that lasts from one that doesn't. Our customer got a proper foundation - literally - before we even started laying planks.

From there, we installed hybrid flooring throughout the main living areas, hallway, and entryway. The wide-plank, dark wood-tone finish ties the whole space together and looks sharp against the white baseboards and arched doorways throughout the home. Hybrid floors are a great fit for Texas homes - they handle humidity and temperature swings better than traditional hardwood, while still delivering that rich, warm look.

The staircase got a full treatment too. We wrapped the treads and risers in a coordinating hardwood-look material that flows seamlessly from the main floor. Clean lines, tight fits at every edge. No gaps, no shortcuts. Then upstairs, we installed residential carpet in a warm neutral tone - soft underfoot where it counts, and a nice contrast to the hard surface floors below.

Every part of this job connected. The moisture testing, the sealer, the hybrid floors, the stair work, the carpet - it was all planned and executed as one complete scope. That's how you end up with a finished home that feels cohesive instead of pieced together.
