Full Upstairs Carpet Install With Subfloor and Baseboard Repairs

What started as a carpet job turned into something bigger. Once we pulled everything up, we found damaged plywood that needed to go. We also had baseboards throughout the home that weren't in good enough shape to work with. So before a single piece of new carpet went down, we handled all of it.

That's the part most people don't see - the prep work. It's not glamorous, but it's everything. New carpet laid over a bad subfloor will shift, buckle, and wear unevenly. We're not willing to cut corners like that, so we replaced what needed to be replaced and updated the baseboards throughout so everything looked clean and finished once the carpet was in.

We covered the full upstairs on this one. Bedrooms, a media room, a bonus living space, and the staircase. Each space got fresh carpet that was properly stretched and set. The stairs especially take some care to get right - every tread and riser has to be wrapped tight and consistent. Sloppy stair carpet is one of the first things you notice, and it's one of the last things you want to redo.

The media room is a good example of why flooring matters in every space, not just the main ones. Dark walls, wall sconces, a projection screen - that room was designed to feel a certain way, and the right carpet helps it get there. Soft underfoot, sound-absorbing, and finished clean along the baseboards. Details like that pull a room together.

The end result here is a fully carpeted upper level built on a solid foundation - literally. New plywood, fresh baseboards, and carpet installed the right way from start to finish. That's the only way we know how to do it.
