Carpet to LVP Bedroom Flooring Install in Midlothian

This one was a solid before-and-after. The homeowner had carpet throughout three bedrooms and the closets - and it had run its course. Old carpet holds onto odors, stains, and wear in ways that are hard to hide. So we came in, pulled everything up, and started fresh.

Here's what we were working with underneath - a concrete subfloor with some residue and uneven patches in spots. That's pretty typical after carpet removal. Before any planks go down, the subfloor has to be clean and level. We prepped it properly so the LVP would sit flat and stay that way long-term.

We went with a 6.5mm LVP with a 20mil wear layer. That wear layer thickness matters more than most people realize. A 20mil rating means it can handle real daily use - pets, kids, furniture, all of it - without showing premature wear or scratching up easily. It's a solid spec for bedrooms and closets, and it holds up far better than thinner options you'll find at a lower price point.

The finished rooms have a rich, dark wood-tone look that completely changed the feel of the space. Clean lines, consistent layout, and tight transitions into the hallway and bathroom tile. That's the kind of result that makes the whole house feel updated - not just the floors.

We also used moisture barrier sheeting during the install process to protect against any subfloor moisture before the planks went down. It's a small step that prevents big problems later.
