This Waxahachie home had carpet throughout the main living area and stairs. It was clean, it was functional - but the homeowners were ready for something different. Something that would hold up better long-term and give the space a more polished, updated feel. That's exactly what we helped them get.

We pulled up all the carpet and prepped the subfloor from scratch. That prep work matters a lot. A properly prepped subfloor is what keeps engineered wood from shifting, squeaking, or developing gaps down the road. We don't skip that step, and it shows in the finished result.

The product we installed is 2mm engineered hardwood throughout the living area and stairs - a wide-plank, dark-toned wood that works beautifully with the stone fireplace and vaulted ceilings in this room. Engineered wood is a smart pick for Texas homes because it handles humidity and temperature swings better than solid hardwood. You get the look of real wood without the stress of worrying about every season change.

The stairs were a big part of this job too. Carpet on stairs tends to trap dirt and wear down fast in high-traffic spots. Wrapping each tread and riser in the same engineered wood as the main floor ties the whole space together and makes cleanup a whole lot easier. The before-and-after on those stairs alone is pretty striking.

Easy to clean. Durable. Looks great with just about any style of furniture or decor. Engineered hardwood flooring is one of those upgrades that pays off every single day - not just in how your home looks, but in how easy it is to maintain.
