This Waxahachie home had carpet throughout the bedrooms - and it had seen better days. Worn, stained, and just plain hard to keep clean. The homeowner was done with it. They wanted something that looked sharp and actually held up to real life.
Here's what we were working with: old carpet sitting on a concrete subfloor. Before anything goes down, we pull everything up and check the slab. We use a Tramex moisture meter to test the concrete - moisture in a subfloor is one of the most common reasons floors fail early. If we don't catch it before installation, you end up with buckling, gaps, and a floor that doesn't last. That extra step matters.
Once the subfloor was cleaned up and cleared, we laid 6.5mm vinyl plank throughout the rooms. The result is a dark, rich wood-look finish that ties the whole space together. It looks clean. It looks intentional. And it's a floor you can actually wipe down when life happens.
Vinyl plank is one of the most practical upgrades you can make in a bedroom or any high-traffic area of your home. No more trapping dust, pet hair, or odors in carpet fibers. Just a hard, durable surface that holds up and stays looking good. That's exactly what this Waxahachie family got.
